Dr. Marilou B. Dedumo, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent of Surigao del Sur Division, together with 15 personnel from the Division, conducted benchmarking activity at the DepEd Caraga Regional Office, Butuan City in line with their thrust for ISO certification.
“This is the crucial step we’ve been waiting for,” Dedumo said during the orientation proper held this morning at the R-NEAP Caraga. She said this in reference to the Region’s successful ISO 9001:2015 Certification on April 16, 2019.
Graced by the presence of OIC-Regional Director Francis Cesar B. Bringas, CESO V and OIC-Assistant Regional Director Dr. Fidela M. Rosas, CESO V, the activity was highlighted by a series of presentations by the Chairs of the ISO Quality Management Review Committee (QMR) on the important elements of the certification process.
Following a short video presentation on the ISO Certification Journey of the Regional Office prepared by Mr. Pedro A. Tecson, Dr. Gilbert L. Gayrama, Chairman of QMR, presented the overview of Quality Management.
Dr. Isidro Biol, Jr. Chair of Quality Risk Assessment and Control (QRAC) explained the importance of understanding the risks and opportunities inherent in every process, followed by the discussion on necessity of the internal audit process and proper dispositions of auditors and auditees alike by Mr. Manuel O. Caberte, Chair of Internal Quality Audit.
Document Controller Ms. Mary Christine A. Odtojan touched on the different kinds of documents and the documentation process itself, after which Dr. Edmund D. Mendoza, Vice Chair of the 7S Committee, presented the do’s and don’ts of good housekeeping. The Customer Feedback Mechanism and Customer Satisfaction objectives were presented by Mr. Ariem V. Cinco, Unit Head of Public Affairs Unit.
RD Bringas led open forum as he provided insights and words of encouragement to the participants.
After lunch, Dr. Dedumo and her team proceeded to the different Functional Division offices in the regional office for the Site Facilities Tour with the assistance of regional officials.
