BUTUAN CITY – 3/3/21
Amidst strict observance of Physical Distancing and other health protocols at the regional office, Regional Director Dr. Evelyn R. Fetalvero, CESO IV, gathered all employees during the virtual Regional Office Assembly with the New Regional Director, March 3, 2021.
Orchestrated by the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) under Dr. Flordelisa R. Dalin, the assembly aimed to orient all regional personnel on the plans, advocacies, and policy directions of the new Regional Director. It also aimed to provide updates on the different strategies related to DepEd Caraga’s implementation of the Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) and its pandemic response.
In her message delivered via Google Meet, Fetalvero acknowledged the paradoxical nature of the virtual assembly. “We gather, yes, but at the same time, we don’t. We stay far apart, yet we connected as if distance didn’t exist. We confined ourselves inside the walls of our respective offices, yet we saw each other as if these walls didn’t matter. In all these, seeing you on the computer screen is not the same as seeing you in person.”
Fetalvero assured all employees of her full support for their welfare and development, but she also stressed that everyone must cooperate. “Ibigay natin ang tamang serbisyo sa ating tungkulin. We must do service every day,” she said. For Fetalvero, the Work-From-Home arrangement is important, but some office tasks simply couldn’t be done at home. Hence, she encouraged everyone to keep serving ——onsite or at home. She also emphasized the importance of human relations as she desired everyone should feel that they belong in the organization.
Quoting St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 16:14, Fetalvero said, “Let all that you do be done in love.” Then she exhorted the Chiefs of Functional Divisions with these words: “I’m inviting all of you, with your God-given wisdom, to be the best and primary examples to your subordinates of how to do this assembly in love.” To the subordinates, she counseled: “I’m also inviting you to do the same, if not better. It is perfectly alright to outdo each other in the way of loving. Let’s compete in loving each other better. That’s the only competition where everyone wins.”
Following Fetalvero’s message, Dr. Jumer Carlon, Medical Officer IV, discussed the medical aspects of COVID-19 vaccination as well as DepEd’s cooperation with the government’s vaccination campaign. After Carlon’s presentation, the Chiefs of the Functional Division also presented to the Regional Director their past accomplishments, the current status of their program implementation, and their plans for the rest of 2021.
The Activity was facilitated and hosted by Miss Junnah Tiu of the HRDD.
