Raul L. Orozco, Chief Administrative Officer of DepEd Caraga, facilitates the discussions.

BUTUAN CITY – September 26, 2018

To resolve issues relative to the implementation of DepEd Orders pertaining to remittances to PhilHeath, GSIS, and Pag-IBIG, payroll services, loans and other matters, OIC-Regional Director Francis Cesar B. Bringas, CESO V, through the regional Administrative Services Division (ASD) headed by Raul L. Orozco, called for a one-day Conference of Division Accountants, Human Resource Management Officers, Agency Approving Officers, Division Verifiers, and the personnel from the Regional Payroll Services Unit (RPSU).

Forty-four (44) employees from the twelve (12) Schools Division Offices (SDOs) of Caraga participated in the conference, held today at the Regional Educational Learning Center II (RELC II), Teacher Development Center in Butuan City.

This is an interaction between the regional office personnel and our counterparts in the division offices (SDOs) as an avenue for us to know each other and share information,” said Orozco in his opening message.

Participants and the other interested parties, Orozco stressed, must have a common interpretation and application of existing rules, particularly on the guidelines regarding the accreditation/re-accreditation of private entities under Automatic Payroll Deduction System (APDS) as prescribed in DepEd Order No. 18, s. 2018, the guidelines on Provident Fund under DepEd Order No. 37, s. 2018, and the implementation of the mandatory use of PhilHealth’s Electronic Premium Remittance System (EPRS) as laid out in DepEd Order No. 5, s. 2017.

“We are not saying that we know all the answers. But perhaps you already know the answers to your own questions,” Orozco said as he encouraged the participants to ask questions and share pertinent information to the body.

Orozco informed the participants that the deadline for the submission of Status Report on compliance with the deadline in remitting GSIS Personal and Government Shares (for the period covering January 2017 to August 2018) would be on September 28, while the deadline for the submission of Status Report on compliance with the mandatory use of PhilHealth’s EPRS (as of August 31, 2018) would be on September 31, 2018.

Anven P. Maglasang of the RPSU, together with Sahly Tina Dacut, Accountant III, and Cladie Mae Atienza, Accountant II, of the Accounting Unit, also provided inputs during the discussions. Other RPSU personnel providing technical assistance were Denisa O. Lindog, Anthea T. Berida, Erma S. Dabalos, and Lucille P. Abucay.
