The implementation of limited face-to-face classes aimed to change that. According to Lev Vygotsky, students learn best when they interact with a “more knowledgeable other,” who, in their case, would be their classroom teachers. Naturally, the absence of such a “knowledgeable other” would hamper the learning process, as had happened in the current “home-school” setup where parents mostly take the place of teachers.
However, the implementation of limited face-to-face classes surely bridged the gap in the learning process as data suggest that students performed well under this setup, notwithstanding the prevailing challenges. In any case, there is no stopping education from going back to normal.
