Maria Ruth R. Edradan, during her time as Senior Education Program Specialist of Surigao City Division, added luster to Caraga’s pride by making it to the top 7 in the 2017 Principals’ Test. Taking pride with her were 205 other successful examinees from the region.

Edradan considered the enhancement programs implemented in her Division as key factors in her success. She said, “I feel so blessed that despite the challenges that my family had encountered in the past three years, I passed the test. We are very thankful that passers of the Surigao City Division are products of Project SHARE (School Heads’ Advancement for Responsive Education) initiated by SDS Gilda Berte”. She currently serves as Assistant Principal 2 at Caraga Regional Science High School.

Another passer, Ms. Venus Asis Decinilla-Bajao, Senior Education Program Specialist of Agusan del Sur Division, also shared her personal motivation why she took the test. She said, “My greatest motivation for taking and passing the test is the thought of being given more opportunities to exercise my leadership skill and be an agent of good governance in our educational system.”

Their statements actually beckoned to all prospective takers to develop deep appreciation of the role of Principals in shaping the conditions that effect high quality teaching, which is a vital ingredient in the effectiveness of our nation’s public schools.
